Projects Developed in Laboratory

Title of the project: Design and development of automatic paper cutting machine by using Geneva Mechanism

Name of the Guide:Prof. S. A. Dhanawade

Description of Project:

  • Conventional hand lever cutting machines has drawbacks it is not provide safety to operator. It’s not user friendly as every time user has to adjust the paper to desire cut place and hold the paper before taking cut. It is very time intense and monotonous process to take a job with varied cut size so such machines also accuracy job taken on this machine rest on operator skills.
  • To overcome difficulties automatic paper cutting machine is planned, in order to reduce the time for creation and cutting the papers, Geneva mechanism is frequently used indexing mechanism where an intermittent motion is essential. The conventional Geneva mechanism is usually simple and low-cost. Because there is no superior curved profile on any of the component excluding straight lines and circular arcs.
  • The main purpose of this machine is to reduce the time for marking the papers. Hence this machine are working fully based on timing. It has become inclusive application part in books or notebook manufacturing industry, visiting cards, or labels manufacturing industry etc.
