Internal Assessment

Various tools are implemented for conducting internal assessment of students.

1. Internal test- 2 internal tests: mid-term test and end-term test conducted for SE TE and BE students. Co attainment for course is achieved.
2. Online exam - Unit-wise online exams are conducted for SE students.
3. Mock Exams- For assessment of practical for SE, TE and BE students.
4. Student activity - Different student activities are conducted as-
       Presentation - Presentations by students on syllabus topic.
       Quiz - quiz competitions are arranged for particular course.
       Poster Presentation - On audit course
       Chart Making competition.

E&TC Department Internal Assessment Poilicy

One of the major components of our education system is examination. The education process in any discipline of learning ends with examinations. The entire effort put in by the teachers on teaching and the student on learning is centered on getting good results in the examinations. Thus examinations have been overriding the process of education and are a matter of concern for stakeholders.

The E&TC department conducts two internal assessment tests, midterm and end term. Each test covers half of the syllabus. The tests are conducted for a maximum of 30 marks & 1hour duration (Minimum 12marks criteria for passing).

I. Question Papers:
       1.Prepared for each course during 2 week FDP before start of semester.
       2. The brainstorming session from domain expert over questions, to map maximum COs, POs, PSOs and BL.
       3.Evaluation of course material, question bank and question paper by module coordinator, DAB and PAC.

II. Evaluation:
      1.The faculties after every internal assessment test, they explain the solution of the questions in the class which enables students to perform well in the final examination.
       2.For any genuine reasons, if a student is unable to perform well in the given two internal assessment tests, improvement test is given to him/her.
       3.The average marks of three tests is chosen for the award of internal assessment marks..

III. Impact analysis
       1.The stimulating environment made students to plan their study for better performance.
      2. Improvement in overall performance of students thus improves the academic result, placement and up gradation to higher studies.

Electrical Engineering

Internal assessment based on independent learning, behavioral aspects, and communication skills etc. Department assesses the term work continuously as an internal assessment tool. Students are assessed on the basis Timely submission (Behavioral aspect), Presentation / Quality of write-up (Communication skill), Understanding (Independent learning) Implementation and Attendance (Behavioral aspect) in department.

Final year projects are evaluated continuously and students are given inputs on their progress, the direction of work and scope for improvement. Students maintain logbooks or project progress books with records of their project progress. These books are checked by guide on a regular basis. As can be seen in this evaluation sheet, it is checked if the students present the review on scheduled date or no which helps in assessing behavioral aspect. With the presentation and question-answer session, the communication skills of the students are assessed. Even though the student does the work in a group, still evaluation is done for an individual to judge his/her contribution in the work. A weekly progress report is maintained by students wherein task performed by each student during that week is mentioned (independent learning).

MCA Department Internal Assessment

1. The courses will be offered in semester pattern. For each course that the student undergoes during a semester, there will be a Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) for a maximum of 50 %; this will be based on the student's regularity in attendance, best performance in the Mid Term and End Term Test, Seminars, Assignments, etc. There will be one examination of 3 hours duration at the end of the semester for each credited theory course.  
2. The sixth semester of the M.C.A. programme shall be allotted exclusively for Project work.  
3. Each student shall be required to take up project work during the sixth semester. The project work chosen by the student & the guide, should be approved by the Head of the department by the end of the fifth semester. Two typed copies of the Project Report shall be submitted to College through the Head of the Department on or before the date fixed by University. In case a student submits the Project Report after the due date but before the end of 5 years from the date of his admission, his viva voce examination will be conducted along with the subsequent batch of students. 
4. A student should complete the M.C.A. programme within a period of 5 years (i.e., 10 semesters) from the date of admission. In case of unsuccessful completion within the specified period his/her registration to M.C.A programme automatically stands cancelled.
5. Normally, the odd semester classes for II and III year will be conducted from July to December of a year. The regular and supplementary examinations will be conducted during December. Similarly, the even semester classes will be conducted during January‐May of a year. The regular and supplementary examinations for the even semester courses will be conducted during May‐June.  
6. Students must attend every lecture, tutorial and practical class. A student can appear in an end‐semester examination for a particular course only when he has put in a minimum attendance of 75% in that course.  
7. The break up of the marks for Continuous Internal Assessment for a theory course is as given below:

9. PROJECT EVALUATION:For the mini‐ project in the fourth semester and main project in the sixth‐ semester, the scheme of evaluation will be as follows. (a) Continuous Internal Assessment 50 % (b) Final Viva voce and Project Report Evaluation 50 %  The Internal and External Examiners appointed for the final evaluation of the Project Work shall decide the allocation of marks for Viva‐voce and Report Evaluation in consultation with the Programme Coordinator.
